R2 Launch Party 2013

Join us for the launch of the 2013 edition of Rice’s undergraduate literary magazine!  The party will be held in the Herring Hall courtyard on Friday, April 12th at 4:30pm.

Celebrate the creativity of the Rice undergraduates who have contributed the poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, and, for the first time, visual art published in this year’s issue.

There will be light refreshments, appetizers, and desserts. But most importantly it’s the first chance to get your free copy of the 2013 R2: The Rice Review.

Calling All Writers: Submit to R2!

Submissions for the 2013 edition of R2 The Rice Review are NOW OPEN!

Send us your fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction by December 14th to be considered for publication.  All Rice undergraduates from any major are encouraged to submit their work!

Email submissions to: r2ricereview@gmail.com

There are prizes!
1st place, each genre: $500
2nd place, each genre: $250
A group of published authors will judge the pieces and award the prizes.

Send pieces to r2ricereview@gmail.com using these guidelines:
1) Put title and genre in subject line.
2) Put your name in the body of the email.
3) Format your piece according to MLA guidelines, omitting your name anywhere on the page. Prose should be double spaced. This is to keep our selection process unbiased, preventing the recognition of pieces submitted by the same author due to unique formatting. (However, if these format guidelines interfere with your pieces intended appearance, you may choose to ignore them.)

Students may submit in multiple genres. A student may submit at most 5 poems, 3 fiction pieces, and 3 creative nonfiction pieces.
